Is BOTOX Cosmetic or the New Dysport Right for Me?
Both BOTOX Cosmetic and the new Dysport are excellent choices for women and men who are dissatisfied with the appearance of crow's feet, horizontal forehead furrows, or vertical frown lines between the eyes. Both BOTOX and Dysport can temporarily cause the small muscles of these areas to relax, allowing wrinkles and lines to be smoothed for a period of 3 to 6 months. Both BOTOX and Dysport are FDA approved, and the new Dysport has been used safely and successfully in Europe for over 15 years.
A common concern among those interested in Dysport or BOTOX at the Nile Aesthetic Institute that the treatment will make your face appear "frozen" or expressionless. This is not the case. BOTOX or Dysport is injected into only the muscles that cause the wrinkles, which should not affect other facial expressions. Your Procedure
Treatment with either Dysport or BOTOX takes only 15 to 30 minutes, and requires no preparation or down time on your part. The treatment area is cleansed, and you have the option of having a topical anesthetic applied. BOTOX or Dysport is injected through a very tiny needle, which causes very little discomfort, swelling, or redness. Most patients return to work or their usual activities immediately following their treatment.

BOTOX Cosmetic or Dysport Results
Results from BOTOX Cosmetic or the new Dysport appear gradually over the course of several days; approximately 5 to 7 days for BOTOX Cosmetic and 1 to 2 days for Dysport. This is the amount of time it takes for the protein to effectively relax the targeted muscles. Dysport has a more rapid onset and begins working sooner than BOTOX. It also appears to last longer than BOTOX. The effects of BOTOX Cosmetic typically last about 3 to 6 months, with Dysport lasting longer than BOTOX, and for both options the results may last even longer for those who get treatments regularly.
Beginning BOTOX Cosmetic or Dysport treatment early, before you have developed numerous, deep wrinkles, can also have a preventative effect. It can keep existing wrinkles from worsening, and may even limit the formation of new wrinkles in the treated area.
