Laser-Assisted Liposuction Jupiter Florida
Smartlipo™ Laser-Assisted Liposuction in South Florida
Many people work very hard to achieve a physique that they can be proud of. However, diet and exercise are not always enough to eliminate stubborn pockets of fat from certain areas. For men and women who want to improve the contour of their body or neck, liposuction in South Florida is the only way to permanently remove troublesome fat deposits.
At his practice in South Florida, Dr. Robert Cooper offers both traditional liposuction and Smartlipo laser-assisted liposuction for body contouring. Smartlipo laser-assisted liposuction is a newer innovation, which incorporates laser technology to liquefy the fat prior to suctioning. This approach may be gentler on surrounding tissues, and may also result in skin tightening in the treated area.

Is Smartlipo Laser-Assisted Liposuction Right For Me?
Smartlipo laser-assisted liposuction is a great option for people of a healthy weight who have isolated areas of fat that do not respond to diet and exercise. It is particularly well suited for smaller areas such as the backs of arms and the chin and neck, and is often performed in conjunction with traditional liposuction for refining and sculpting treated areas or with tummy tuck surgery.
Your South Florida Smartlipo Laser Liposuction Procedure
A small tube or cannula is inserted into the skin of the area to be treated, usually in a discreet location after the area has been tumesced with fluid. The smaller cannula used in Smartlipo laser-assisted liposuction contains a laser fiber that transmits heat energy to the fat cells. This liquefies or “melts” them and makes them more easily suctioned out. The heat also causes immediate coagulation of the small blood vessels in the area, so there is less bruising and bleeding than with traditional liposuction. The laser energy interacts with the dermis layer of the skin, which may result in collagen shrinkage and a skin tightening effect.
Recovery and Results
Smartlipo laser-assisted liposuction often can be performed using local anesthesia, which wears off more quickly than general anesthesia. You will have some discomfort, but most patients describe this as comparable to muscle soreness from a vigorous workout. Some bruising and swelling is to be expected, and you should take a few days off from work to rest. You will see results very soon after your procedure, but healing of the skin and underlying tissues may take a few weeks. It may take a few months to see your final result. Back to Top
