Is This Procedure Right for Me?
Good candidates for breast reduction cosmetic surgery in South Florida should be at a healthy, stable weight. Many of Dr. Cooper’s patients choose this procedure in order to:
- Reduce the back pain and physical discomfort associated with large breasts
- Restore a rounder shape to breasts that have stretched due to their size
- Minimize everyday inconveniences like being unable to sleep on your stomach, wear your favorite clothes, or exercise normally
- Minimize a “top-heavy” look and create a more balanced and harmonious appearance
Almost every breast reduction combines reduction and a simultaneous breast lift for optimal breast enhancement. At The Nile Aesthetic Institute, Dr. Cooper will discuss a number of options with you to help you decide on an approach that fits your goals.
Your Breast Reduction Procedure
Dr. Cooper has spent years of training to develop the medical knowledge and surgical skills to meet the needs of a wide variety of patients. He individually customizes each procedure so that your breast reduction results reflect and enhance the natural beauty of your body shape as a whole.
Your breast reduction in South Florida will begin with a circular incision around the areola. In most cases he will also create an incision running from the areola to the crease below your breast. Dr. Cooper will remove excess skin, fat, and in some cases glandular tissue from around and below the breast, refining the breast shape and bringing it into harmony with the rest of the body. Dr. Cooper will then close the incision using small stitches. He never removes the nipple-areola complex from the underlying breast tissue.
This procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia. Dr. Cooper’s goal is to create natural, sensuous looking breasts, bringing them into better harmony with the rest of your body.
Breast Reduction Recovery
After being discharged from the Surgery Center, you may choose to stay in the Pavilion Resort. Dr. Cooper’s highly trained staff will be able to help ensure that you relax after your recovery by taking care of all aspects of the recovery process, including plenty of rest as well as healthy, gourmet foods created by our Pavilion Resort chefs. If you are recovering at home, Dr. Cooper will explain what steps you should take to plan for a smooth recovery with the help of a friend or family member.
Expect some swelling the first few weeks after your breast enhancement procedure in South Florida. Dr. Cooper will prescribe prescription medication for the first stages of recovery, though most of his patients feel comfortable switching to over-the-counter pain relief within just a few days.
Good postsurgical care is important for you to adjust to your new, more attractive shape, but also to help minimize scarring. Scars will generally improve within 12 to 18 months and may ultimately become difficult to see. Breast reduction surgery patients can typically return to moderate activities within a week, though they should delay strenuous activities for about three weeks. Back to Top
